The Faculty of Linguistic Sciences and Foreign Literatures was established in the 1991/1992 academic year, thus, initiating a innovative project that was imitated in many Italian universities: it stipulated that language learning and the study of linguistic and literary sciences must be integrated with disciplines that examine various areas - company structures, tourist flux, international relationships, mass-media and audio-digital communication - fostering an advanced cross-disciplinary specialisation in linguistic and cultural skills.
