Abstract
In this talk, we recall some estimates of geometric flavor on the first eigenvalue of the $p-$Laplacian with Dirichlet boundary conditions. More generally, we will treat the case of a general Poincaré-Sobolev embedding constant.
We will present some hints on the proofs, some weird phenomena and some open problems.
The presentation will be as self-contained and simple as possible.
